For yet another twist on the pizza oven, Houston-based Russo’s New York Coal-Fired Italian Kitchen has turned up the heat in Richardson. The claim: Coal gets the oven even hotter than wood, gas, etc. Gosh, how hot does it have to be?

I've been in dallas for the last 4 years and i've been carving for a good pie,well russo's delivered.i'm from NY so i know what's a good pie taste like.i went there last week with my wife,we got the heart healthy pizza,the waiter told us that they use real stone coal for the oven i didn't believe him first until we got the pizza,you can see the black spots all way the crust and you can taste the coal...Oh my god!!thumps up!!! my wife ordered the lobster ravioli,there was a real lobster chunks stuffed in the pasta and the sauce wow!!
It's a must eat dish.
It's a nice place,nice atmosphere,good food good people,that's all you ask for in a restaurant,i felt like i'm back home. Thank you Russo's we will back and we will spread the word...
