Don’t ask for vindaloo or chicken tikka at chef Vijay Sadhu’s modern Indian bistro in the Shops at Legacy, and no, there’s not a buffet. Instead, look for dishes like Goan scallops in a suave coconut and tamarind kari sauce; onion seed prawns with fried okra; and Peshwari rack of lamb; plus a selection of vegetarian dishes. Desserts are exotically delicious. Full bar.

Don’t ask Vijay Sadhu for chicken tikka or anything vindaloo — and no, you won’t find a buffet at his new restaurant, Sutra. The chef, who was last seen wearing the executive chef hat at Samar by Stephan Pyles when it opened in 2009, simply has no interest in the kind of choose-your-protein curry-bomb dishes you find at most Indian restaurants around town. Sutra on Sunday

The atomosphere was warm and welcoming. The chef/proprietor Vijay could not have been nicer.

Coconut mussels-they were delicious, could have used a few more.

Bombay samosa chaat-The best samosa's that I have had so far, perfectly seasoned, crispy served with wonderful chick pea combo sauces, tamarind and mint.

Tandoori chicken kebab-Not usually a fan of dark meat chicken, served with onions and bell peppers. The chicken was tender and very well seasoned. He won us over with this one.

Shrimp Kari-Simple and delicious. Loved the delicate sauce.

Naan-Fresh, full of flavor.

Overall the experience was very pleasant. Great support staff, very laid back. If you are used to fast food Indian cuisine, this will be an eye opener.

Thanks Vijay!
