Inglourious Basterds

It is the first year of Germany's occupation of France. Allied officer Lt. Aldo Raine (Brad Pitt) assembles a team of Jewish-American soldiers to commit violent acts of retribution against Nazi soldiers, including the taking of their scalps. He and his men join forces with Bridget von Hammersmark, a German actress and undercover agent, to bring down the leaders of the Third Reich. Their fates converge with theater owner Shosanna Dreyfus, who seeks to avenge Nazi execution of her family.

Quentin Tarantino is a pop-culture fabulist. In movies such as Reservoir Dogs, Kill Bill and Pulp Fiction, he created characters that speak in a stream of a references that are the product of a life lived consuming culture – the movies and TV they've watched, the music they've listened to, the tabloids they've skimmed, the trashy novels they've read. Batter UP

Ohh Yeah this was good fun. Quentin did a good job with this movie. The story line was brilliant, acting from everyone was outstanding and some of them in multiple languages. One of the best things about Tarantinos movies is that the BAD guys have fantastic roles that inspire great actors to perform splendid.
This movie had lots of good old violence, but of course…it is a Tarantino movie after all.
It had a couple of the Tarantino trademarks, which a true fan will appreciate like side clips showing characters origin or on screen labeling of person, places or things.
The film has a beautifully rich color and outstanding cinematography, why can’t more films look like this!
Movie was almost 3 hours…but only dragged at small points.
I do not want to discuss the plot to much because I do not want to give it away.

Yes it has violence and foul language…so do not take your kids.

Plenty of bloody violence, plenty of witty dialogue, plenty of interesting characters.

The only negatives are some scenes drag on a bit and some more action scenes would have been more appreciated.

Not as good as Pulp Fiction but better than Deathproof. I give it a solid 9 out of 10.
Will watch it again on the big screen then snatch up the DVD. I hope it has some extra scenes.

Not awful but a poor Tarantino movie

I normally enjoy Tarantino's movies but this was slow, at times boring, and completely lacked any kind of character development. Saw at least one couple walk out of the theater. Might have been a good movie if an hour was edited out, and if you saw the trailer you've already seen the best parts of the movie - the rest is filler.

Lame

Tarantino's lamest saga to date ...

Everything in this movie is wasted. You feel that this movie is a cheap attempt at being Tarantino, except the problem is -- it is Tarantino. It's too long, you never give us any full character development, we know you like the Uma Thurman lookalikes, and none of your screen animation or regression scene tricks work, or were really even needed, in this movie.

Tarantino doesn't come anywhere close to reaching his earlier great films in this wasted attempt. It's like even Tarantino wasn't trying with this one. After he came up with the brilliant title, he had to backfill in the rest of the story, but he only used filler instead of substance. And we get to see each piece on the screen. Pity.

And ... we all already know the story of the rat and the squirrel, giving nods to the squirrel simply because of the tail. Come on, Tarantino, is this what you resort to now in telling your stories?! Waste.
