Comedies about middle-aged affairs of the heart appeal heavily to the demographic of most live American theaters, so it’s not a surprise that Stage West has ranged far afield to find a new one: Scottish poet and playwright Liz Lochhead debuted Good Things three years ago. Stephanie Dunnam, once one of North Texas’ most prominent leading ladies, has moved back to the area after a busy screen career. After her recent success in Stage West’s The Skin of Our Teeth, Dunnam returns as Lochhead’s heroine, Susan — frustrated by her friends’ attempts to set her up and angrily inappropriate when she finally meets a nice guy on her own.

But one of the four actors dropped out, and director Jim Covault had to step into his roles. Jerry Russell contributed some additional direction, and the show was open to review by Friday, when I saw it. (Full review)
