Cheesman park provides a 150-mile panoramic View from he Cheesman Memorial Pavilion to the Front Range. There is a large playground with slides and swings and a crushed granite jogging path. The park hosts summer concerts.
Congress and Cheesman were once a single park known as Congress Park, which was formed when Congress converted Denver's former cemeteries from Federal to City ownership. The western part of Congress Park was named Cheesman Park to honor Denver water baron Walter S. Cheesman.
