The tough economy has brought its share of closures, downsized concepts and innovations, such as pop-up restaurants. Now comes the fusion of two disparate concepts into one: Natalie’s may be the name on the marquee over the front door, but inside, it’s actually Natalie’s and Al’s Steakhouse combined.
The two used to stand side-by-side in a North Dallas shopping strip; Al Ali, who goes by the professional name Al Amadeus, owned both. He gave up the original Natalie’s space a few months ago and folded Natalie’s into Al’s, which he had opened last year. He kept the better-known name: Natalie’s has been a popular neighborhood destination for some 20 years. (Full review)
