The Best Steakhouse

Came into Dallas today wanted a good Texas Size Steak been wanting one ever since I came into town. I didn't really know where I should go to eat but I didn't want to go to far from my hotel. I was staying in downtown so I figured I would stay downtown. I wanted something walking distance because I love to walk. I came into the y.o. Ranch steakhouse because I went to a western store 1st wild bills. They suggested that I try the y.o. Ranch steakhouse they had nothing but great things to say about this place. As soon as I walked in it was so amazing looking I felt as I was right in the country in a lodge cabin house. There was many stuffed anaimals everywhere and a good western feel to the place. I loved the warm welcoming by all the employees. They were all so sweet and very helpful with all my questions about Dallas and about the menu. I wanted to try a good drink that I have never had before and my server suggested a nice glass of wine. I went ahead and got a glass of Franciscan napa valley. It was very good glass of wine. Now for dinner I ended up trying the dry aged angus new York strip. It was by far the best steak I have ever ate in a very long time. I give this place 5 stars! A must come again place to eat and will.

Never Judge A Book By It's Cover!!

I have lived in Dallas for years and like most Dallasites rarely venture to The West End. I can’t even remember why our most historic part of town got such a bad rap. I think it has something to do with The 80’s. Anyway, some friends from out of town were interested in a little Dallas history so, I decided we would go check it out. What we found was a charming part of town with multiple restaurants to choose from. Not only is it simple to get there by train but, the local restaurants and merchants share a valet service that only costs $3.00 per car. Try that on Travis, Greenville, or Mckinney.

After walking around the hood for a while we decided on The YO Ranch Steakhouse. Now, I had heard of the place before and always dismissed it as a tourist trap. Boy was I wrong! The atmosphere which could have been cheesy was actually warm and inviting with a touch of Texas Class. The genuine western artifacts that adorn the whole place actually come from their namesake ranch in Kerrville and were just what my international and out of state guests were looking for.

The YO is a Wild Game and Prime Beef Steakhouse and they really push the game. The buffalo filet mignon (their signature dish) was incredible as well as a quail appetizer and an elk chop. But their steaks were some of the best I have ever had and that’s saying a lot coming from Texas.

The wine list was innovative, fairly priced, and well-rounded while the service was friendly, informative, and un-obtrusive.

The whole experience was a pleasant surprise and I can hardly wait to go back and try another restaurant in the area although, it will be hard to pass by The YO.

THE CAPITOL OF AWESOMETOWN!

If there were a place called awesometown, The Y.O. would be the capitol.
The Buffalo Filet Mignon is simply one of the best pieces of meat I have ever put in my mouth. The Mesquite smoked baked potato is the perfect compliment.
The service was perfect and Texas friendly. If you want a stuffy, know-it-all,condescending server, This is not the place for you.
The wine selection is fantastic and (this is not confirmed)I swear thier bottles are $10 to $30 cheaper than several "white tablecloth" places I have been recently.
This is one of my new favorite places.

Divine

The Y.O. is, unequivocably, the best privately owned Texas Steakhouse in the Metroplex. I love their friendly, refreshing atmosphere and attitude, impeccable service (no arrogant noses pointed skyward here) and, of course, their fabulous food!!!!

My favorites include: Louie Roll Ups for starters (Bacon-wrapped Axis Venison with Jack Cheese and Jalapeno); the Y.O. House Salad with Goat Cheese and Carmelized Pecans; Mesquite Smoked Buffalo Filet Mignon or the 22 oz. Cowboy Cut Ribye as my main entre. The Creamed Spinach is divine.

Hill Country Authentic. See for yourself. One thing they need is a bigger place!
