Lockhart Smokehouse is the only place in the DFW area where you will be able to get Kreuz Market Sausage. And just like the original, the meat is served on butcher paper, without sauce and without forks. The meat doesn't need sauce and your fork is at the end of your arm.
The brisket, sausage, ribs and other meats are smoked over Texas post oak. Updated versions of classic southern sides and some Schmidt family favorites will round out the menu.

Lockhart Smokehouse, which opened in February in the Bishop Arts District, is a cheerful, bright spot, Texas cute, with white beamed ceilings, red vinyl chairs, corrugated metal accents and bowls of peanuts on the tables. You can get a beer or something stronger at the bar. Order and pick up your food at the counter in back — countermen slice the meats before you and set them on butcher paper just as at Kreuz Market. Choose your sides from the cooler to the right. (Full review)
