This family-run Tex-Mex favorite, which opened in 1986, can go easy on the fat: Beans are mashed, chiles rellenos are roasted, and there’s no cheese on the chicken-and-squash entree. Otherwise, expect classic hot sauce and dishes in a charming room that used to be matriarch Anita Avila’s beauty shop. Full bar.
