In September 2010, Good 2 Go Tacos closed at 702 N. Buckner Blvd. in Green Spot Market and Fuels. It re-opened Jan. 13, 2011, at the corner of Peavy and Garland.

Chitos and Fuel City aren't the only gas-station taquerias: Last month Jeana Johnson and Colleen O'Hare opened their unusual Good 2 Go Taco at Green Spot Market and Fuels, Bruce Bagelman's eco-chic biofuel station in Lake Highlands. Already it's a huge hit. The two seriously pedigreed chefs (Johnson last worked the tapas bar at Stephan Pyles; O'Hare was sous-chef at York Street and Green Room) source outstanding ingredients, including heritage meats (Red Wattle pork from Sloans Creek Farm) and chicken from Windy Meadows, in cuts that other chefs don't want. But these two certainly know how to coax out extraordinary flavor, braising pork shoulder, for instance, in tomato, achiote, onion and jalapeño.
The taco selection changes daily, depending on the ingredients Johnson and O'Hare can get; typically they offer four selections at a time.
These are nothing like the tacos in a down-home Mexican taqueria, but they're wonderful all the same, in combos like pulled pork with blue cheese coleslaw; jerk chicken with mango, cilantro and crème fraîche; or the "Hangover Helper," with house-made chorizo, mashed potatoes and cheddar cheese. Tortillas, which are not house-made, come in white (flour), whole wheat, corn, sprouted wheat and hemp. Order from the chefs at the window, grab a Meyer a place at one of the few tables, if you can. Then pay at the cashier – the same one you pay for your 10 gallons of biofuel.
