Straying away from the Tex-Mex concept, including tacos and enchiladas, Javier's focuses on a more realistic image of what Mexico City dining is all about. The low-lit dining room at Javier's is replete with mounted game, large paintings, and hanging plants. If you come to Javier's searching for the traditional Texas Mexican restaurant, you will be disappointed, but if you come looking for a taste of the heart of Mexico you've found the right place!

The atmosphere is always buzzing and fun. I highly recommend the smoked chicken nachos-- they are a must have appetizer and great as a light entree too. Top shelf margaritas are hard to beat and their chips and salsa are top-notch. The idea of dipping your chip in soft butter first might not sound appealing, but wait until you taste it. The service is always fast and impeccable. I would never go without a reservation. The one downside is that you often have to wait a while-- even with a reservation. If you've never been before, don't try to park, take advantage of the complimentary valet.
