L'Ancestral Restaurant

I find it interesting that all of the dishes Ms. Brenner is looking for in her Best French of Dallas are regular fare at L'Ancestral, perhaps this 27 year old Travis Walk establishment is well beyond her years and experience. This is the place to go for great French food, it is where Dallas goes to not be seen but to get a quality meal at a fair price. The steak au'poivre with frites is as good as it gets. The wine list is French and reasonably priced. The service is relaxed and experienced, you will never feel rushed. Reservations are highly recommended during peak times as this place is usually quite busy. If Ms. Brenner is still in Dallas next year perhaps this fine local establishment will get the recognition that it has earned.
