If somebody is cooking something wonderful and there's no one there to
taste it, does it still taste good? That's the conundrum at AMPM, a 3-month-old restaurant and lounge
downtown in the Mosaic Building. The concept is ultrahip night-life spot
by night, brunch-and-lunch spot by day. Several times a month, it's also
a place for events. (Full review)

Rediculously good!

Presentation and service is paramount...if it looks good, eat it, and if the service is good, return. Presentation and service was on point two weeks in a row. The Watermelon Salad is a pleasantly tasty surprise and the Spring Rolls are super fresh and delicious. The Chicken and Waffles combine Chef Tommy's genius secret waffle recipe, warmed syrup, and perfectly seasoned chicken. Roscoe would definitely be jealous! The food was so good on my first visit that I ordered the same 3 items the second time around. Consistent. Yes! I'll be back, and I promise to try something new next time!

Sexy & Hip!

Was pleasantly surprised by the interior of the restaurant. Hip deco makes the restaurant/lounge a great place to host a party for the grown and sexy! The service was top notch and the food was amazing! Favorite drink was the Flying Hawaiian! A must try!

AmPm finally opens

We finally got the opportunity to get downtown and check out the restaurant side of AmPm. We had attended several of the private parties (I think they throw 2 of them a month?) and had a great time.

We went a day or two after they opened and had marvelous dining experience. From the Southwestern Nacho "amuse" that was sent out by Chef Tommy himself to the Kobe Meatloaf (my entree) everything was right on the money.
The staff was courteous and friendly and the food will bring me back. Nice to see an affordable eatery downtown! Can't wait to go back....

AMPM was a disaster!

Went to the AMPM restaurant on opening night (Wed, 7/15/09) with big expectations, but it was a disaster!

1. Only valet parking was available, but the attendent didn't show up for 10 minutes! They won't validate my $5 parking after having spent over $150 and the valet left at 10:00pm!

2. The weird basement had a big door to AMPM, but it was locked, had to walk all the way around to the street entrance.

3. There were only 2 other tables occupied, low energy, so much for opening night!

4. No wine list, no dessert menu, no cocktail menu!

5. They had a basic menu like you'd find at Grandy's or Black-eyed Peas. The waitress recommended "Fried Chicken & Waffles"! It was literally waffles in syrup with fried chicken -- I almost puked and wonder if it was a gag menu item!

Nothing impressive at all, average ambiance/decor/service too. I'm baffled WHY they even opened if they're so ill-prepared to launch.
