The Hacienda on Henderson

The Hacienda on Henderson

2326 N. Henderson Ave., Dallas, TX, 75206

Here comes Hacienda on Henderson in the old Cuquita's space. The restaurant-bar has a big patio and will continue the late-night hours of Cuquita's. Chef Mike Dimas' menu will be Tex-Mex mingled with "authentic Mexican 'family' recipes."

Two of the owners, Patrick Tetrick and Chris Faulkner, also own the bar-restaurant Lotus, and Miles Zuniga also owns the Slip Inn and Vickery Park. That's probably a good indication of the vibe.

Eat somewhere else and enjoy the HH drinks and patio here

I agree with the 1 star. Brisket tacos were awful. Meat was dry, unseasoned, and tough. The sauce was a tiny bowl of grease. Waitstaff wasn't very attentive. Drinks were accidentally spilled sometimes. We had to beg for more napkins more than once. And then to top it all off, we were asked to move b/c we hadn't ordered anything in 30 minutes and others were waiting for the table. Excuse me? We just spent $100 here. Maybe I was about to order another drink...but not anymore! Also there is a $2 upcharge for adding strawberry to a $3 happy hour margarita. Not worth it!

Awesome white queso, margarita, michelada's and fajita beef!

This is my favorite spot for affordable, strong and flavorful margaritas. I always get the frozen with a 'strawberry floater'(strawberry infused tequila). Yum! I also enjoy the Micheladas, which is basically a bloody beer with some spice and lime. It rocks with Tecate light. As for food, the white queso and guac-que-sir are super tasty with just the right amount of spice. The salsa is always just right. The beef fajita burrito is awesome, its smothered in green chile sauce. The flavor of the beef is better than any tex mex restaurant I've been to. The nachos with chicken and beef are also great, they come on those giant crispy thick chips. And my husband swears by the surf and turf tacos, as do most of my guests. I don't like corn tortillas so I usually skip tacos.

Oh and don't forget botomless mimosas and other yummy drinks during brunch on Sundays. It's a great place to watch football, there are TVs everywhere and the patio is huge and can be covered with heaters when the weather calls for it.

Reminds me of a place in Cozumel

SO I read the bad reviews below but went anyway and gave the place the benefit of the doubt. All I can say is get real people. Normally the bad reviews you read from people are the ones that are always uptight and need constant attention. Here's the bottom line. Dont go there on a friday night expecting a nice quiet dinner. Be smart about it. It's on Henderson people so you know it's going to be crowded on the weekends. We went on a Sunday night which is the perfect night to go. We didnt pay for parking. We walked in and it was an immediate upbeat and lively place. The music was great and we were seated right away in a nice booth in the middle of all the action. The drink menu is awesome. Tequila selection heaven. The guac, queso and salsa were all good for my belly. The steak and shrimp tacos gave me a good nights sleep. The house margaritas are good for being house and the other drinks I ordered were very good. You have to try the The Haci Jalarita. It's my new favorite and shot to the top of my list. Great music selections and it wasnt too loud at all. We had great conversation all night long without having trouble hearing each other at all. Our server was great not to mention smoking hot. Everyone there seemed to be having a great time. All laughs and smiles. I'm definitely going back. My girlfriend loved the place. score. To sit down and have a meal... sunday and maybe saturday nights. to party... friday and saturday. it's fun to find a new place that you like!!

Great new joint!

I must say that the rice here is phenomenal! I've heard several people say the same. Also, the habanero infused tequila is delicious! My friends and I love the patio here and actually enjoy the "noise". It's a cool spot with a fun vibe and if you're looking for somewhere "quiet", then don't go to a bar....And especially don't sit on the patio.

Total Disconnect

This is not a place to go for the food. The only thing I would reccomend is the Guiness on tap... But why would one ever think of drinking or serving Guiness with Mexican food... and, here are lot's of better places that don't charge you $5.00 to park in their empty parking lot on a Tuesday night than here. Like possibly.... a Pub!

Ditto on the loud noise and poor service even when the place is almost empty.

Wasted Potential

They did a great job renovating the space. The food is below average. One out of five dishes I have had were passable. The drinks are pretty good and the chilled flavored tequila is kinda cool. However, the margarita rocks are all ice. The drink seriously takes two sips and its gone. The place has alot of potential but it seems to be wasted.

Also, as for the review below about the rice I can't find one of my friends who likes the rice. It tastes like weird flavored Spanish rice smothered in some sort of greasy butter. Reminds me of that oil Lay's chips used a while back then stopped that make your mouth greasy and gave people stomach problems. Gross.

Go for the rice!!!

This is one of my favorite restaurants!!! Every time I go to this side of town I HAVE to eat there. Last time I had the Tilapia Tacos, they were light, fresh, and covered in wonderful julienned jicama and carrots. However, the rice is the BEST I have ever had. The drinks are strong, inexpensive, and cold. Great place to take out of town friends for an inexpensive, trendy spot.

Perfect for a casual dinner!

The drinks were well made and inexpensive. The wait wasn't too terrible (about 30 mins on a Friday night), and the food was great for the price. I would definitely recommend this place for a group just wanting a good and inexpensive meal with some great margaritas!

Ears STILL ringing

Do not go unless you want to lose part of your hearing for so so food in an indoor atmosphere that is a cross between a topless bar and a seedy college joint. When I asked the guy nicely if he could lower the music a few decibels he goes, "Are you kidding?! That last song wasn't even that loud." The jillion valet guys, sorry to say, were inept. One erroneously brought up a woman's car (she was still attempting to dine) and they let a 75 year old woman walk to the car while they let an able bodied young guy get out right at the curb. Boo hiss!

Too Noisey

Food was great. Prices were great. Service was great. But it was too noisey in the restauant, which is why I am giving the bad review. I was there with a party of 6 and had to read the lips of people at the other end of the table. Best part of the evening was when we were standing in line for the vallet, where we could actually hear each other.
