Chef Jean-Marie Cadot leads this French spot in a Far North Dallas strip mall. The menu ventures into the more modern, but the best dishes are the most classically French: Dover sole meunière, duck terrine with pistachios and truffles, apple tart with almond cream and Calvados ice cream. If you’d like the excellent Grand Marnier soufflé, order it at the start, even if the menu doesn’t say so. Full bar. Closed Sunday.

Our first visit to Cadot, which is within walking distance of home, did not disappoint in any way.
We had heard that the menu was excellent and it was truly magnificent.
We started with the Mussels which were fresh and superbly prepared and presented.
My wife went with the Trout for an entree and I chose the Flat Iron Steak Provencal. I have visited France MANY times and I can assure that I have never had a better steak there. Superbly succulent, cooked to perfection and beautifully presented.
Our guests chose the wine, a Meritage, which was also very lovely.
At the end of the meal the Patron came over and sat with us for a little while and made for very pleasant company. We enjoyed a couple of Cognacs and headed for home.
Altogether an excellent dining experience. We shall certainly be going back to sample some of the other delightful sounding menu items. Top Notch! Definitely worth five stars!

It's a wonderful moment. The new French restaurant. Two chefs with serious pedigrees. A menu that offers some classic dishes. Reasonably priced Champagne. Main courses are about to come, and the world is full of promise. Where are we? Cadot, the new restaurant from Jean- Marie Cadot and Gaspar Stantic — two chefs, one French, one Swiss, both classically trained, with long histories in Dallas. (Full review)
