The "Storybook Playhouse" exhibit at the Dallas Arboretum features 14 interactive playhouses inspired by children's stories. They were designed by local architects as part of a competition. There are lots of cool details to check out along the way, including the bell and wooden cannons in the pirate ship inspired by the Jolly Roger from Peter Pan, the gazing ball in an Alice in Wonderland-inspired house, and the way the sun catches the translucent material used in the "Owl and the Pussycat"-themed entry. Don't miss the Dr. Seuss-inspired houses, based on One Fish Two Fish Red Fish Blue Fish and The Lorax (this whimsical wonder won best in show).
