Explore Dallas’ culinary terrain at Fair Park, where the Taste of Dallas festival begins Friday. Take your appetite and your curiosity because you’ll have chances to sample a variety of treats from more than 50 area restaurants and watch more than a dozen chefs and one mixologist share recipes and tips during demonstrations, which will include complimentary samplings. Check out the website to see which demos you want to watch. Who knows? You might find ideas for a summer backyard bash. Before you go, you might also want to take a look at the website to see which eats you want to try, and then pace yourself to make the most of the fest. Don’t forget to stay hydrated. The festivities will include live music; a marketplace stocking spices, cutlery, cookware, olive oils, sauces, jams and more; children’s activities; the Artist Enclave, which showcases the local art scene; and, new this year, the Taste of Talent competition, featuring area singers, dancers and other performers.

Dont know what all the complaints are about. We thought it was a great value. To the person complaining about the half a hot dog for $1, Oscar Meyer Mobile was giving them away for free! We came home with a sack full of free goodies. And the $1-$3 tastings were perfect. At taste of addison there tastings start at $5-$10. Thank you Taste of Dallas, can't wait for next year!

Taste of Dallas will NEVER get a dime of my money! On one of the hottest weekends of the year, and Taste of Dallas decides to have all of the water fountains shut off inside the fairgrounds, doesn't allow anyone to bring in their own water, and forces folks to pay $3 a bottle for water! If this were any other monopoly, people would be demanding answers. Well.....I'm demanding answers. This was a horrible thing to do to the citizens of Dallas.

I went to my first (and last) Taste of Dallas this weekend and I must express my disappointment. The promoters talked about nothing over $3. And they were right. For $3 I could get a half of corn dog. Or a mini bbq sandwich (slider). What's up with that? Except for the Albertsons booth where one could get a "whole" hot dog for $1, I thought the whole gig was a rip off. Dallas can learn so much from the Taste of Arlington or even the Taste of Grand Prairie. They know how to put on a "Taste of".
