(214) 827-2927 - Venue Website

Consistently ranked among the best restaurants in Texas, Hibiscus is an upscale, pacific-influenced chophouse and grill featuring food and service of uncompromising, quality in a warm and energetic milieu. The cuisine at Hibiscus celebrates the bounty of premium meats, seafood and agriculture harvested from the rugged coasts and fertile inlands of the United States. The fare is robustly flavored, generously portioned, seasonally attuned and unequivocally fresh. Signature menu items include Volcano'd Big Eye Tuna Tartare, Spicy Crab Crusted Sea Bass in Roasted Yellow Tomato Cioppino, Lobster A L' Orange with Three Citrus-Soy Butter and a broad selection of well-aged, USDA Prime Steaks that are simply second to none.

When it comes to dining, Henderson Avenue is red-hot. Every night of the week, cars cram the valet stands on both sides of the street, from Hector's, the Porch, Tei Tei and Cuba Libre to the new hot spots Hacienda, Urbino Pizza e Pasta and Park. (Full review)

A Great Evening

We recently went for restaurant week, which happens to fall on my huband's birthday. We were greeted warmly and led to a table, then were quickly moved by the manager to a nice booth in the back. Apparently there had been a drip at the first table and they didn't want us to be dripped on (we appreciated that).

Our waiter was friendly and recommended a very nice, reasonably priced white wine. We ordered from the restaurant week menu, which had a nice sampling of their regular menu with a few new (steak and prawn for one) things thrown in. My husband had the scallops and said they were perfect and I had the Bistro Chicken, which was nice - whatever "salad" it was sitting on was heaven. We ordered the Mac casserole and to us it was OK, and we also got the creamy crab dip. My husband loved it - it was a little rich for me. The butterfinger pie for dessert topped off a really good meal.

All-in-all a great experience - the service was quick, friendly, but not imposing and we relaxed and enjoyed the evening.
