The new location of BUZZBREWS on Lemmon has still managed to retain the cozy, funky feel of the original, but on a much larger scale. The walls are lined with music legends and retro lights hang from the ceiling. There are comfy lounge chairs in the back for other hungry guests to wait for their table or tap away on their laptops using the free Wi-Fi. As I waited for my table on a busy Saturday morning, I helped myself to the bottomless coffee bar which featured many java choices. I choose the Southern Pecan and it was simply delicious, I didn’t even have to load it with my usual cream & 3 sugars. The wait was about 10 minutes, but well worth it. My server was friendly, but not overly attentive, which I prefer. I started the meal with coffee and then realized they serve pitchers of mimosas. It was Saturday, and all I was doing was watching football, so what the hell we ordered a pitcher. The fresh squeezed orange juice was a great complement to the champagne and my boyfriend and I enjoyed every sip of it and left us with just the right tinge of a buzz, perfect for a lazy day. At the recommendation of my server I ordered the Californication stuffed eggs; a variety of fresh vegetables stuffed into a 3 egg white omelet served with freshly baked wheat toast and fruit. Thank goodness it was healthy because I devoured the entire thing; it was so yummy I just couldn’t stop. My boyfriend ordered the Pit Grill Pancake, 2 buttermilk pancakes, 2 slices of bacon (or veggie sausage) and 2 eggs any way you want (he got them over medium). His eggs came out perfectly, which I usually have found not to be the case and the bacon was slightly soft but not overly chewy. As for the pancakes they were to die for, of course I had to try a few bites...I mean who can pass up pancakes?!? They were hot and delicious with real butter and real maple syrup. Mmmmm… I thoroughly enjoyed my first trip to Buzzbrews, which is why I give them 5 stars. I can’t wait to come back and try all their other tasty breakfast creations.
