Usually Teatro Dallas’ fall show ties in with the Mexican Day of the Dead commemoration, but this year the commemoration is of a different sort. One of the company’s favorite playwrights, Victor Hugo Rascón Banda, died last year. So Teatro is paying homage by producing the Mexican writer’s "Blue Beach." Usually Rascón Banda based his dramas on real-life events, but "Blue Beach" is a work of fantasy. In an unkempt old hotel, an engineer-politician tells his family that he has a plan to save the business from the fallout of a hostile new national administration. In the process, all the family members must confront their darkest inner demons. Cora Cardona, the prodigiously talented Teatro artistic director, directs.
