Rabbit Hole

With offbeat plays such as "Fuddy Meers" and "Wonder of the World," David Lindsay-Abaire became America’s high-end writer of the literary farce. The theater world thus got something of a surprise when the Boston native turned out "Rabbit Hole," the serious drama that nabbed the 2007 Pulitzer Prize almost a year after the show had closed its limited run on Broadway.
For a while, it seemed that the Dallas Theater Center had a lock on presenting new Pulitzer winners locally, but now the field has opened for other companies. Contemporary Theatre of Dallas won the honor of performing "Rabbit Hole" here for the first time.
"Rabbit Hole" deals with a family trying to cope with the loss of a young child. Cynthia Nixon and Tyne Daley played the bereaved mother and grandmother in New York. Nicole Kidman and Dianne Wiest are scheduled for the movie version. At Contemporary, Dallas Fort Worth Theater Critics Forum award winners Joanna Schellenberg and Sue Loncar will take the roles. Ashley Wood, Marianne Galloway and Kyle Curry complete the cast.
