The North Texas Traditional Dance Society invites you to a contra dance on the first, third and fifth Saturdays of each month from 8 p.m. to 11 p.m. and some second Saturdays from 7 p.m. to 10 p.m. On the fourth Saturday of each month, there will be an English country dance from 8 p.m. to 11 pm.
We dance to live music - toe-tapping fiddle tunes. Dances are easy and fun. All dances are taught. No fancy costumes. Wear comfortable shoes and clothes. No partner necessary. Age doesn't matter. Lots of friendly, happy people contra dance.

This is a well run group with excellent live music and great people. My daughter and her friends also enjoy the music and dance.

I have danced with the NTTDS for over two years. You should come even if you've never danced before. Your feet will be happy, your soul will be joyful and your spirit will be lifted by the live performance of our musicians. There's room for everyone and you'll smile your way through the evening. First timers pay $8 to get in, but they give you a coupon to get in free at the next dance. Everyone was very helpful and there was actually an extra man or two in the early part of the dance so going there as a single woman was no problem. It was so great to have fun and get exercise too! I like not having any smoke or alcohol. If you get dizzy easy, though, you might have to tell your partner to do the swings slowly until you get used to it. The live Irish / Folk music band was so talented!!! I can't wait until the 1st Saturday to go again.

Wow, what a gas! Loads of fun. Pretty easy to learn, too. Moves fast, with lots of flirting opportunities! All ages here. Fantastic music, you can't keep from moving to it. There's something about dancing to that live music--
I'll definitely be back!
