East Texas railway station is the theme at this barbecue house in a Carrollton strip mall. On a good day, the brisket can be nicely smoky and the pulled pork meltingly tender and flavorful. Sides and desserts can be challenging; best bets are the potato casserole, baked barbecue beans and pecan pie. Full bar. Smoking area in the bar.

Cobb Switch, named for a town in East Texas, is as cute as a strip-mall restaurant can be – from the outside, anyway. "Entering Cobb Switch City Limits," says a sign. "Pop. 210." It looks like a railway station, a theme that's continued inside, where you're greeted by an alluring smoky aroma. (Full review)
